END OF AN ERA
2019 was the last operating year for the Trust at Bursledon Brickworks. It marks the end of a 22 year collaboration to build and operate a 2 foot narrow gauge railway at the Brickworks Museum.
Trustees and members have voted to disband the Trust due to increasing age and declining numbers of membership, especially active ones, and also the failure to secure a long term future at the museum.
Following the decision and ratification at the October 2019 AGM all stock had left the Brickworks site by the end of November. The locomotives and Ramsgate coach have been donated to the Statfold Narrow Gauge Trust and remaining rolling stock to Hampton and Kempton Railway who are both like minded charities.
Remaining funds will be distributed to other like minded charities.
The Trust expects to be finally wound up by the end of March 2020.
The Trustees and members would like to thank the many enthusiasts and well wishers who have supported us and our activities over the last 58 years. Please continue to support our memory by visiting both Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum and Hampton and Kempton Railway where our locomotives and stock will continue to be operated and cared for in the years ahead.
